They were met by Pam Russell Director of Fund Raising and the Chief Executive Robert Creighton who gave them a tour of the facilities including “The new Build”, work was nearing completion on an extension, this would give extra space to the Day-care Centre providing a much needed Gym, additional Therapy Rooms and treatment rooms. Cheques totalling £4,314 part of which was a cheque presented by W.Bro John Edwards to the value of £2500 on behalf of the Middlesex Mark Benevolent Fund.

“St Luke’s is the local hospice for Harrow and Brent. Who care for people whose illnesses are no longer curable, enabling them to achieve the best possible quality of life during the final stages of their illness. We care for patients through our in-patient unit, out-patient clinics, and day care unit, as well as in their own homes through our community and home care teams. Coming to terms with a serious illness can be difficult and distressing. Everyone in the family, including friends can be affected, so our staff and volunteers provide a friendly and supportive environment in which everyone feels welcome.”

Members of both Haste Hill Mark and Craft Lodges then presented a further two cheques. On behalf of Haste Hill Mark Lodge for £938 and Haste Hill Craft Lodge for £876, both amounts were raised through the sale of Lodge equipment and regalia following the closure of both Lodges most of whose members have now joined the Duke of Connaught Lodge 199 who came along to give their support. It is always difficult when it comes to making donations it is always difficult and members wanted any proceeds to go to a Local charity. St Luke’s being a local Charity fitted the bill nicely. Many of the members were very aware of the importance of St Luke’s in the area. And again this money will go towards providing much needed equipment for the new unit.
